The “Council of Ministers” of the “peace” government welcomed, on Saturday, the sanctions announced by the US Treasury Department yesterday, Friday, on Jibril Ibrahim, Minister of Finance in the Port Sudan Authority, and the “Baraa bin Malik” terrorist militia affiliated with the “Islamic Movement”, which has been fighting in the ranks of the “Sudanese army” since April {2023} AD, according to a statement published on the official page of the “Prime Minister’s Office” on Facebook.According to a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the Prime Minister’s Office, the US sanctions are a confirmation of what advocates of peace and democracy in Sudan have been saying, that both sanctioned individuals are dangerous allies of the Iranian terrorist regime and destructive forces in Sudan.According to the Cabinet statement, the sanctioned individuals have played a key role in igniting and prolonging the current war and obstructing the Sudanese people’s march towards democratization, in addition to their involvement in arrests, torture, and executions of anti-war civilians. In the same context, the Council emphasized that these tough sanctions and designations “put the finger on the wound,” as it put it, and correctly focused on the “Islamists” who started the war and continue to play the biggest role in its continuation, threatening the peace and security of Sudan and the entire region. The Council reiterated its full commitment, in accordance with the Interim Constitution of {2025} and the charter of the Sudan Founding Alliance, to resist terrorism, terrorists, and all those who seek to undermine the stability of Sudan and the region.
