The President of the Presidential Council discusses with the British envoy the overall developments in the country

His Excellency President Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, Chairman of the Presidential Council, held fruitful talks with Mr. Richard Crowder, the United Kingdom’s Special Representative to Sudan, during a telephone conversation on Saturday, which addressed the overall historical relations between Sudan and the United Kingdom.

 

His Excellency praised the United Kingdom’s significant and ongoing efforts in supporting the Sudanese people, particularly in the field of humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians, as well as its valuable contributions to ending the war and achieving security and stability in the country.

 

His Excellency also gave a detailed explanation of the ongoing political developments, the declaration of the Government of Peace, the motives that led to its formation, and its vision to end wars and achieve comprehensive and just peace, as well as to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people.

 

For his part, Mr. Crowder affirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to stand by the Sudanese people and work to alleviate their suffering by promoting and facilitating access to humanitarian aid and protecting civilians, with a view to ending the war and achieving peace and stability in Sudan.
